First Rain Farm is a thirty seven acre property nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills just a few miles from the quaint and historic town of Nevada City, CA. Amongst the towering pines, broad black oaks, and majestic madrone, with fields of growing organic vegetables and berries is the perfect place to hold your special event. Open pastures with grazing cows, goats and chickens lends to it's charm and is the rustic farm space that you have dreamed of when celebrating your special day and event.
In 2018 Tim proposed to Kat and they knew that they would want to get married on the farm, so that next year they worked hard on creating the perfect space for them to do that. What was a fallow section of the growing field turned into a beautiful flat area to hold guests, with a sloping garden overlooking the pastures and a homemade locust post arbor made from trees on the property. Kat and Tim were married there in September of 2019 and it was a beautiful and glorious event surrounded by their loved ones. Since that day they have hosted two other weddings in that same space with the same joy coming from everyone who was a part of those events. Everyone leaves gleaming from the experience of having a beautiful outdoor wedding on a working farm with such breathtaking scenery. Kat and Tim want noting more than to share this special space wih others who desire to have this type of experience. They can only hope that more and more people can leave with memories of this special place on their minds forever.
If you decide to choose us to have your ceremony or event we offer communication as needed to talk about your needs and ours, we require a deposit to hold your dates that will be refunded after the event once everything has been cleaned and there is no damage to the property and parking assistance for the event. All rentals, food and day of insurance will be provided by you. Talk to us about providing produce for your event if that is of interest.
What we offer:
Option A: Ceremony only up to 150 people for $1000
Option B: Ceremony up to 150 people, reception until 11pm, next day cleanup and breakdown $4,000
